CranioSacral Therapy was developed by Dr. John E. Upledger, an osteopathic physician. CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle touch technique performed on the craniosacral system that can create powerful and profound improvements in your health and life. This technique encourages the body’s central nervous system and natural healing processes to move towards balance; it helps the body to deeply relax, release accumulated tension and holding and self-correct. This leads to naturally decreased stress and pain, a strengthened immune system and greatly enhanced health and well-being.
A CranioSacral Therapy session may last one hour or more. During the session, the client is clothed and lies face up. Through the application of delicate, listening touch, the therapist assesses the rhythm of the fluid in the client’s craniosacral system and releases areas of weakness or tissue restriction to promote greater function and balance.
